The Shack - William Young

I hated it!

That’s to strong.

I didn’t like most all of it.

This book was given me to read on the recommendation of a good friend, and I certainly found several of its points to be relevant.  All in all though, aside from a good writing style, I just couldn’t let myself enjoy it.

Maybe it was God the father as a woman . . .

Maybe it was the Holy Spirit as a female Asian gardner . . .

Maybe it was Jesus saying, “True that” . . .

Maybe it was the secret world behind the cliff, where wisdom (Sophia) lives . . .

Maybe it was the accolade on the front cover where Eugene Peterson compares it with Pilgrim’s Progress (causing large amounts of dust in a graveyard near Bedford, England to rollover) . . .

Nice book.  Nice thoughts.

Something that I would recommend?

Probably not.
